Broken Brains or
Wounded Hearts: What Causes Mental Illness
The "modern" biological-chemical-brain model of the source of all mental illness is a fairy tale. There is no scientific evidence to support the notion that "mental illness" is due to "chemical imbalances in the brain", "bad genes" or anything else of a biological nature. The major drug companies and psychiatric associations push this idea relentlessly because it makes them both lots of money (and apparently many of them falsely believe what they are selling . . .). That is primarily the true motivation and source of the "modern" model of "mental illness" - money. All psychiatric drugs effect the mind and emotions in negative ways, making it that much more difficult to honestly address the real sources of one's problems with life, their emotions and their own mind at a later time. Additionally, the psychiatric view declares us all fundamentally not responsible for our conditions and actions because we "have brain diseases" or "suffer from mental disorders" for which we can do absolutely nothing about (except take our drugs). Nevada, December 3, 1997 * * * People DO have various problems with life and their own mind. Instead of naming and redefining these problems as various so-called biologically-based "mental diseases", and labeling people with them, as is currently done within the psychiatric community, these problems with life and living are best understood and addressed outside of the traditional psychiatric paradigm. Why? Because psychiatric "treatments" such as ECT, lobotomy, and powerful psychotropic drugs are based upon severe faulty scientific methodology, and quite simply, harm people. Learn the truth about psychiatry and drugs.
