False Memory Syndrome - Repressed Memories,
Sexual Abuse,
Exaggerated Claims of Child Abuse
|
| The media has been filled
with stories about psychologists "counseling" children to assist them in
remembering, confronting and addressing experiences of child abuse. Sadly,
it has been shown through repeated cases that far too often the psychologist,
therapist or counselor does NOT act as a neutral agent helping the child
to remember, but instead "leads", "directs" and even "plants" the memories
in their minds.
Memory has come to be viewed more and more
as a very plastic commodity, not at all rigid and fixed as originally thought.
Actual true experiences of innocent back rubs have turned into first stages
of (imaginary) sexual abuse in the minds of children following directed
and misleading "remembering" and "recovery" techniques by psychologists.
The result of all this has been many cases of upset, family break-ups,
and even criminal accusations against innocent parents or family friends.
Yes, there are real cases of child
abuse and these are abhorrent. But the activities of various psychologists
has turned an actual much smaller situation into an over-exaggerated epidemic
of child abuse. The courts have been deluged with false cases, people have
been hurt, resources have been grossly wasted, and in the end the psychologists
claim no responsibility - they were only meaning well!
The same techniques that are used to uncover
alien abduction experiences are used to uncover traumatic memories in child
abuse cases. The human mind apparently has a tremendous ability to "fill
in the gaps", "add details" and even construct entire memory scenarios
starting with almost nothing.
A child abuse industry has grown up around
an army of social workers and psychologists. Sadly, it seems they actually
cause more of the bad family situations, emotional upset and chaos than
they ever actually solve or repair. Combined with extensive poor training,
whacky psychological and sociological theories, and an out-of-control court
system, families are being destroyed at an ever-increasing rate.
