Education: OBE (Outcome-Based Education), Goals 2000, NEA (National Education Association), educational psychology, German psychology & influences, demise of public education, educational sabotage, Wundt, Pavlov, & Dewey, School Choice.

The following books examine and largely find fault with various aspects of the modern educational system. This is due in a very large part to the influence of modern psychology's views of Man and how we all relate to the world around us. So many "modern" psychological theories used today in the classroom replace basic, common-sense education of reading, writing and arithmetic with complex behavioral programs aimed to alter and shape the student's beliefs, attitudes, and values. Additionally, it is also the psychologists who forced the "phonics" methods of learning to read out of the schools, replacing it with ineffective "look-say" and "whole-language" approaches, resulting in entire generations of students with decreased reading ability and acquired learning disabilities. There is much to discover here. Choose a book, get it and read it! The following books are written by members of the education or psychology establishment. They are generally "logical" within the framework of their own (generally unexamined or incorrect) basic assumptions, but the conclusions and results of applying their methods are largely disastrous. B. F.Skinner raised his daughter in a "Skinner Box" (a large rat box...) - the "ultimate learning machine" - she committed suicide at age 21. So much for B.F. Skinner's methods! Read them with a very careful eye. John Dewey, the recognized "father" of American education, chronically writes in abstract broad generalities which are almost never applied to actual real-life situations. In fact, most of what he says CAN'T be applied in real-life. But that hasn't stopped almost 100 years of sappy intellectuals and educationists from trying. The result is a sabotaged modern education system. Politician's continually assert "more money to education" as a solution for the failures of modern public education, but as long as the money funds the methods of psychology this is doomed to failure. One must realize that "modern education" is ONLY "modern" PSYCHOLOGY. Sadly, "more money to education" within the current educational context will only lead to more failures.
